There will never be an end to articles and books and pithy quotes created about the stress of modern day life. We have to wake up for work. He has to stay awake at work. We have to try and go to sleep after work, even if we have Snapchat to check up on. On and on and on it goes, where it stops, nobody knows.
But while you may not be getting the recommended amount of Z's every day, you can still look like you do. We have ten – not nine, not eleven - tips on how to look rested even if you had barely had any time to sleep.
Splash of cold water
Before you do anything else, splash some cold water on your face in the morning. This will bring color to your cheeks and you'll look more alert.
Drink a glass of water before you start on makeup. You might be dehydrated from staying up for far too long!
Hide the circles
Reduce the dark circles under your eyes by gently wiping the area with something cold. Ice cubes and cooled tea bags work, though you have to be careful not to get ice burns on your skin if you're using the cubes.
Now you can break out the concealer! It will help hide any remaining dark circles under the eyes. It will also hide the redness around the mouth and the nose.
Brighten your eyes with some white eyeliner on the inner corners of your eyes. The eyes will then look bigger and you will look more awake.
Skip dark eyeshadow
Give your eyes more sparkle and shine with a gold toned eyeshadow. In general, use fresh, light tones instead of dark ones.
You should at very least curl your lashes. It will open up your eyes, making you look more awake.
Color your cheeks
Blush on the apples of your cheeks will make you more awake and fresh.
Attention to the lips
Bright eyes will draw attention from your tired eyes. Go with a bright, natural pink.
To avoid the look of tired, pale skin, use a bronzer to bring in some color and glow.
