Unlike people, animals don't have racism and don't really discriminate based on fur color - or lack of it. Albinism in is a congenital disorder, which appears as an absence of pigment in skin, hair and eyes. This leads to uncharacteristically white animals.
The name comes albus, which means "white" in Latin (and now you know that Dumbledore was named after Gandalf). Albisnism affects all vertebrates, not only humans. An albino is an organism with a total absense of melanin - however, one with only a diminished amount is called lesucistic or albinoid. Now have a look at pictures of these albino animals and be amazed by their beauty.
