64-year-old Stephen Paddock has just went down in history as American's deadliest shooter. He killed 59 and injured more than 527 in Route 91 Harvest country music festival. The man used firing position from the 32nd-floor hotel room to fire on the crowd using an arsenal of guns that included AK-47, an AR-15, four DDM4 rifles, three FN-15 rifles and Sig Sauer rifles. Leaked photos show his legs and body as well as as some of the guns and ammo he had stacked in his posh hotel room.
Stephen checked in the room on September 28 by using the ID of his girlfriend Marilou Danley. He smuggled in more than 23 guns into the apartment via more than 10 suitcases.
Stephen used a hammer to smash out the hotel windows that provided good lines of the fire on the concert goers. He then used several guns - including a rifle with a bumpstock, a modified stock that allows simulation of automatic fire, and an extended magazine - to pour fire on the people.
He had also set up several surveillance cameras so he could be on the look out for the police. Officers used explosives to storm his room, but they only found his body and his arsenal.
The police are still "working to process the crime scene from the Mandalay Bay Hotel and also investigate the motives of the shooter. Detectives are combing through evidence to uncover the shooter's motives and any other pertinent information that will help shed light on the Sunday night massacre." Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo told reporters: "We have no idea what his belief system was – I can't get into the mind of a psychopath. This person may have been radicalised, unbeknownst to us, and we want to identify that source."
Marilou Danley, 62, has been deemed a “person of interest” in the case and flown back to the US from the Philippines for questioning. Stephen had wired about $100,000 to her country a week before the shooting.
