The gun violence in America continues! Scott Ostrem, 47, 'nonchalantly' walked into a Walmart store in Thornton, near Denver, Colorado, on Wednesday night and started shooting at shoppers near the register. He shot and killed three people: two men and a woman, who were in an area near the front of the store. Scott gunned them down without even saying anything, walked back out and fled in a red, four-door Mitsubishi Mirage.
Thornton Police Department first responded to the store location on Grant Street in the town located just 12 miles outside of Denver, around 6:10pm after receiving a few 911 calls.
Two men were pronounced dead at the scene while a woman was transported to a nearby hospital where she died hours later. The police didn't release their identities nor do they believe that the victims knew each other. Nobody else was injured in the attack.
Scott was captured five miles away at 8 AM local time on Thursday. His motives are as of yet unknown and police are not linking the attack to terrorism. Scott had declared bankruptcy in 2015, yet doesn't have a real criminal record aside from a 2013 arrest for driving under influence.
Aaron Stephen was in the self-checkout line when he heard shots and screaming. "I was scared," Stephens said. "I feared for my life."
