So this one Chinese villager found a stray kitten in March. But upon closer inspection he realized that this was no ordinary fluffball, but a younger version of the leopard cat. He called for the police, and the authorities identified that animal to be a one-month old leopard cat. The police now plan to send the kitty to a wild animal center, where it can grow up to be a full fledged leopard cat.

This species is a class III protected species in China, with great economic and scientific value.

Once the kitty grows old enough to take care of himself (and maul any predators that come close), he will be released in the wild, where it will presumably adopt a stray Chinese villagers, becoming a media sensation among other cats in the region.
