Spiders are kinda freaky in general and there are some places where you would never want to find them. Like, how freaky would it be if a spider lived in your ear? That is precisely what happened to an Indian woman that The Indian Express identified as Lekshmi. She started feeling headaches after falling asleep on her veranda. She also felt like there was something stuck in her ear, but neither trying to dig it out with her fingers, nor asking her daughter to examine it with a flashlight helped.
Lekshmi was then taken to a hospital in Karnataka (India). There, astounded hospital staff discovered that a spider was nesting in her ear. The arachnid squatter was then evicted by shining a light into the patient's ear.
“It is common to see emergency room visits due to the presence of a foreign object in the ear and it takes a simple procedure to remove the object," said one doctor. “When a living insect makes its way inside a human ear, the patient’s anxiety makes it difficult to continue the procedure. It was a rare to see a live spider moving inside someone’s ear canal.”
“I was terrified as I could feel movement of a creature in my ear. The acute earache followed by sharp pains suffocated me,” Lekshmi explained. “I couldn’t think of anything and was petrified when the doctor confirmed presence of a spider in my ear.”
The doctor filmed the entire ordeal – watch it if you're not afraid of spiders!
