Woof? Yes, officer Kathryn Smith (St. Paul Police Department) adopted one of the stray puppies she found when she was called in to do something about a stray dog the farm. The puppy was named Fuzz. However, he's now been promoted to Sgt.
Fuzz, as he's a frequent sight at the police station. “Our chief brings his dog, Stella, in on Fridays, so we thought it’d be nice to have the puppy come in here and there, too,” John Lozoya, the PR officer told the press. “He was an instant hit with everyone.”
Fuzz has been hired as a “cuddle officer,” a part time position where he spends 10 hours at the station while Kathryn is there.
“He’s very playful but also loves to be cuddled,” Lozoya said. “His personality is very welcoming. He’ll lay down and let anyone pet him right away.
He’s a very mellow puppy.” The department is planning to enroll fuzz in a therapy dog program so that he would be able to help not only the officers, but also the victimized people that appear at the station.
